Richard Croell and his son, Roger, built Croell, Inc. from the ground up (using concrete of course!) They constructed the first plant in their hometown of Lawler, Iowa during the Spring of 1968. Today, Croell is in nine different states with more than 120 locations.
Starting in 2020, Sysdyne CloudBatch has been installed at over 50 of Croell’s ready mixed concrete plants. Here is what Jeramy Croell, Territory Manager, says about his experience with Sysdyne’s CloudBatch and their service:

“A few years ago, we decided we needed to streamline our batching systems across the company. We had an assortment of batching machines across our locations, making it difficult to cross train, and in our office, with the different information coming in from the various systems. We wanted something that would work for any size of market and plant setup we had, and after a trial at one of our plants, we decided to go with Sysdyne CloudBatch.
The implementation and roll out process was very easy. Most of the setup can be done without affecting day-to-day operations. I loved the functionality and customization of every part of the plant in CloudBatch. We had control of everything from batch sequencing, to when aeration turns on and off, to when we wanted horns to sound.
The batch screen was completely customizable to exactly what plant we are running. From admix vials, to aggregate bins, to silos, no wasted space or bins on the screen that aren’t really there. Every icon and switch is movable, renamable, and resizable.
The replaying of loads has been one of the most valuable tools of CloudBatch. If something goes wrong, or a load is out of tolerance we have the ability to rewatch exactly what happened on the batch screen, rather than relying on the dispatcher’s memory. This has made problem solving and tweaking of free falls and jog tables much simpler and improved the performance and accuracy of our batching across the board. With CloudBatch we don’t have to be on site to do this either, we can make changes and watch loads from anywhere. Being able to make more accurate changes to plants and managing tolerances is crucial. It helps to conserve as much powder as possible to stretch the allotted material.
In the past we had truck tracking through different companies, but with the iStrada implementation into CloudBatch it goes much further. Not only can I see where my trucks are and how fast they are driving, I can see their ticket, batch weights, time stamps of when they left the plant and arrived at the jobsite and more.
By far the best part of our switch to Sysdyne has been the customer service. No other company comes close to their responsiveness and assistance when you have a question or request. CloudBatch continues to improve and gain new features constantly, and I look forward to continuing our partnership with Sysdyne.”
