Sysdyne Batching Systems Helps O&G Industries’ Construction in Harbor Point Become A Possibility.
Using Sysdyne batching systems to streamline the production of vast amounts of concrete, O&G Industries has made notable progress on the Harbor Point project with the neighborhood currently operational. Harbor Point in Stamford encompasses 88 acres of the 322-acre peninsula protruding into the Long Island Sound, south of Stamford center. This impressive ongoing project includes building 400,000 SF of retail space, 350,000 SF of office space, a hotel, spa, and 4,000 new housing units (30 buildings altogether) and over 16 acres of parkland and a mile of shoreline trails.
Harbor Point is repurposing one of the state’s most contaminated properties. This “brownfields” site where coal was gasified at the turn of the century and where industrial manufacturing in the following decades left behind significant pollutants, will be transformed into eminently useable land. In fact, Harbor Point is one of the first projects to qualify for the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) pilot program.
